Oh, Say, Can You Sea – Fourth of July Cruises and Bad Puns

Happy Fourth of July, Discount Cruisers! In celebration of this most patriotic of holidays (in the US, at least), we’re dedicating today to the best Independence Day cruises.

Let’s start off with a bang, shall we? OK, that was cheesy. I apologize. But you get where I’m going with this – FIREWORKS!

Who doesn't love fireworks? Alright, OTHER than dogs and small children.

If you want the best seat in the house for Fourth of July fireworks, you might have to take to the seas. There are loads of dinner cruises that give you a front-row seat for some of the best fireworks displays in the country. New York, Miami, Seattle, and Boston all have amazing shows, and there are cruise lines dedicated to making sure you have the chance to see them (Lucky you!). Many cruises that are at sea in other parts of the world for the actual holiday have their own celebrations. Some have parties and themed dinners, special drinks, and patriotic songs, though these are more common on sailings with a majority of American passengers.

For legal reasons, we can't guarantee your cruise will do this. But just between us? We really hope it does.

If you want your cruise to focus on patriotic destinations and ports, there are plenty of options. Try a New England cruise if you want to visit the cities and buildings that played host to some of the most important events in the early history of the United States, like New York City and Boston (or just go watch a Yankees/Red Sox game – just as patriotic, really). Alternately, you can take a river cruise in the US, on a major waterway like the Mississippi or Columbia Rivers. These waterways were once the major highways in the United States, and saw decades and centuries of commerce and social history. Also, Mark Twain spent a lot of time on the Mississippi, and if he’s not all-American, then I don’t know what is.

That mustache just screams "I love America!"

However you choose to spend the Fourth of July, it’s sure to be a blast (There I go with the fireworks again! Sorry!), and Discount Cruises wishes you the safest, happiest, and healthiest of Independence Days.
